MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Months of exciting qualifier rounds in Davao, Manila, and Cebu culminated in the first-ever Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines National Final in the Queen City of the South. On May 24, the country's strongest dancers gathered for an explosive dance showdown in Cebu's Ayala Center.

Historic Dance Showdown in Cebu

At the National Final in Cebu, elite dancers from all over the nation competed for the title, thrilling the audience with a diverse range of moves, including house, hip-hop, waacking, locking, and even voguing. Every dancer's destiny was in the hands of the audience, and the excitement was unparalleled. In the end, Sam Rivera—also referred to as "Nemesis" in combat—was declared the 2025 Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines National Champion.

“It was an amazing journey,” said Nemesis of her Red Bull Dance Your Style journey. “This was my third time to join Red Bull Dance Your Style. I’m so happy that I won the championship title in my hometown, Cebu. It’s my pride and honor.”

Nemesis also mentioned how thrilled she was to be attending the National Final for the first time in Cebu. She added, "I think that I was more empowered because my family was here with me, and while I was on stage, I could see my friends, so that gave me a boost." "I was so excited because people (from my hometown) will get to see me dance on the national stage, especially my mother, my family, and my friends." 

Nemesis also gave the Cebuano audience credit for keeping her motivated during the tournament. "They got me through the Final," she remarked. I'm really appreciative of them since the community here is really encouraging, not only to me but to every competitor that performed on stage. And Red Bull, who gave me wings, of course. I appreciate the energy.

Each round, the Cebuana Krump Star demonstrated her domination. It gained not only the trophy but also a place on the international scene thanks to her unquestionable stage presence and charismatic ability to command the crowd. Nemesis is now focused on the next fight after representing the Philippines at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in Los Angeles, USA. "First of all, it's going to be in Los Angeles, and it's going to be my first time traveling outside of Asia," they said, expressing their excitement for the World Final. "I want to connect with other dancers from around the world, and dance my heart out at the World Final to show them what Filipinos are capable of," she added.

Nemesis stated, "I will do my usual routine," about her preparation for the World Final. She added, "I think that (has to be) a balance of everything, your faith in God, your physical conditioning, and strong mental conditioning when you perform." "I will train my body, my mind, and my soul."

Nemesis revealed her strategy for the World Final: "I'll just be myself because I think we're all unique in our own way." I'll just demonstrate my abilities, including my dancing and krumping skills.

The Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals in Cebu evolved into a full-fledged cultural extravaganza in addition to the fierce dance competitions. For those who attended, the event created a memorable experience.

Along with top-notch street dancing, attendees enjoyed special performances by local dance crew SZHD and Cabuana superstar Karencitta, which showcased Cebu's skills. The Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals was more than just a dance competition; it was a celebration of Cebu's urban inventiveness.

foodpanda Logistics recently concluded Panda Legends: Ride & Conquer, a statewide Mobile Legends event for its Ka-panda delivery partners, with nearly PHP 1,000,000 in prizes awarded.

“We aim to continuously engage our Ka-pandas not just on the road, but also through activities they enjoy, like gaming. Through this Mobile Legends tournament, we provided them with a platform to showcase their skills, build camaraderie, and have fun while competing,” said Ron Sanders, Rider Experience Lead at foodpanda Logistics.

For many riders, gaming served as a way to unwind after long hours on the road. John Lloyd Trasmote, a Ka-panda partner biker from Cebu City, shared his experience: “Magandang pagkakataon ito para sa aming mga Ka-panda na mag-bonding at ipakita ang galing natin sa gaming. Ang saya makita na sinusuportahan tayo ng foodpanda logistics sa pamamagitan ng ganitong mga activities.”

Similarly, John Kenneth Mian from Davao expressed his appreciation: “Matagal na akong naglalaro ng Mobile Legends, at nakakatuwang isipin na makasama ko yung mga kapwa ko rider sa isang actual competition.”

“With gaming continuing to be a strong passion among many Ka-pandas, Panda Legends proved to be a great initiative that united the community, both on the road and in the virtual battlefield,” Sanders added.
