Davao City, Philippines, October 30, 2025 — The Davao Bloggers Society (DBS), together with foodpanda, HONOR Philippines, and Ripple8, recently collaborated to provide comfort and essential aid to families impacted by the recent 7.6 magnitude earthquake in the Davao region.
The initiative, led by the Davao Bloggers Society, aimed to provide immediate relief to residents of Manay, Davao Oriental, one of the hardest-hit towns in the Davao Region. With the help of foodpanda, HONOR Ph, and Ripple8, the organization was able to gather and deliver two batches of donations consisting of 30 boxes of drinkable water, hygiene essentials such as sanitary pads, alcohol, soap, and shampoo, as well as 50 boxes of multivitamins to support the survivors’ recovery and health.
The donations were turned over to the Metro Davao United Fire and Rescue Inc., as they took charge of transporting all relief goods from Davao City to Manay, Davao Oriental.
Even weeks after the earthquake, many families in Manay are still struggling with tough conditions. Running water hasn’t been restored, leaving residents to depend on donations or nearby streams for their daily needs. The power supply is unreliable, providing electricity for only about 30 minutes a day, and communication signals remain spotty.
“Learning about Manay’s situation moved us to take action, and we are very grateful to our partners, foodpanda, HONOR Ph, and Ripple8, for stepping up and helping us make this possible. Every contribution counts, especially when our fellow Mindanawons are struggling to rebuild,” said Gem Tadefa, the incumbent President of the Davao Bloggers Society.
Community organizations and private companies can collaborate to create a significant impact during crises. For foodpanda, HONOR Ph, and Ripple8, their donation showcases a continued dedication to corporate social responsibility and supporting communities in need.
“Partnering with the Davao Bloggers Society was a simple but meaningful way to reach those who needed a little help after the quake,” said Julius Macalagay, Media Relations Director of Ripple8. “We’ve always admired how DBS shows up for their community, and we’re grateful to have joined hands with them for this cause.”
Ripple8’s Managing Director, Bobby Vito, emphasized: “We’re thankful to the Davao Bloggers Society for being our bridge to the community in Manay. It’s in moments like these that partnerships rooted in trust really matter. Even small efforts can make ripples of positive change when done together.”
Denis Santos, HONOR Philippines’ PR Supervisor, also shared, “At HONOR, we believe that technology and progress mean little if we don’t uplift the lives of the people who need it most. Joining this initiative is our way of standing with the Davao Bloggers Society as they help rebuild Manay with dignity and hope.”
“As an official partner of the Davao Bloggers Society, we are committed to supporting them in all their endeavors. All the more now that Manay has been struck by a major earthquake and is in dire need of essential supplies. We are thankful to DBS for allowing us the opportunity to help, and we pray that the lives of the residents of Manay will return to normal soon,” remarked Pau Bautista, PR Manager of foodpanda.
Through collective effort and shared kindness, the Davao Bloggers Society, foodpanda, HONOR Ph, and Ripple8 continue to show that solidarity and compassion remain the strongest foundations of recovery.
