The brand’s month-long celebration returns with music-driven content, fan stories, and exciting rewards.

Building on the momentum of the previous year's success, realme FanFest grows and evolves in important ways year after year. What began as a local celebration has now expanded regionally: realme FanFest 2024, produced in collaboration with Stratminds Events, has been nominated for the "Best Consumer Event: Product Launch/Re-Launch" category at the Marketing Events Awards 2025 in Singapore. This distinction, earned alongside multinational companies, demonstrates how realme's fan-first initiatives continue to push limits and exceed expectations.

Now, realme takes it a step further, celebrating the 7th annual FanFest in 2025 with the theme REALmix, a month-long festival that puts fans front and center through music, tales, and special rewards. It's more than just celebrating milestones; it's about allowing the Squad to express what it means to be a member of the realme community.

This year's FanFest is built around three big initiatives that highlight the authentic voices behind the brand.

The Real Soundtrack: Songwriting Contest

realme launches a nationwide songwriting competition open to aspiring musicians aged 18 and above. With themes centered on authenticity, togetherness, and community, the contest offers one lucky winner a P300,000 prize and the chance to have their song professionally recorded as the official track for realme’s holiday campaign. It’s an opportunity for emerging talent to step into the spotlight and be heard by a national audience.

Keeping It Real: Stories that resonate

Back by popular demand, the Keeping It Real series is back, featuring heartfelt stories from realme's most loyal fans and creators. Staying true to its commitment to celebrating real stories and meaningful connections, realme has once again collaborated with artists and personalities from its previous campaigns. This year, The Juans and Aiyana Perlas take center stage, sharing personal narratives that showcase how realme has supported their journeys—driving their passion, purpose, and daily breakthroughs. Episodes will be released weekly on realme's official Facebook page, offering a closer look into their lives behind the scenes.

Weekly realMIX Giveaways

To keep the excitement alive this August, realme is hosting weekly digital giveaways. Fans have the chance to win exclusive realme merchandise and products by joining easy online activities. Plus, there are exciting promos and discounts available both online and in retail stores all month long.

This August, the spotlight is on the fans

More than just a campaign, realme FanFest 2025 is a platform for self-expression, a place where voices are heard, talents are showcased, and the Squad takes center stage.

Fans who want to join the songwriting contest or weekly giveaways can stay tuned for announcements and mechanics via realme’s official Facebook page. They can also look forward to exclusive promos and special discounts this August, making this year’s FanFest one they won’t want to miss.

Work x Gym bag | Adidas 4ATHLTS Small Duffle Bag

In my early 30s, living in the north as a corporate slave, I'm learning to take life one coffee at a time. My days are a mix of work, post-shift gym sessions, visits to quirky coffee shops, weekend runs during my "running era," and debating whether to learn how to cook Pasta Puttanesca or keep pretending I can't. I don't have kids, unless you count my beloved cats back in CDO, whom I miss dearly almost every day.

If there's one thing I'm certain about, it's what I pack in my bag. These are my essentialsnon-negotiables for a thirtysomething human just trying to navigate workdays, gym sesh, and the occasional coffee shop run without losing his sanity. My bag is less an accessory and more of a survival kit.

Now, let's keep this blog conversational and explore with me as we unzip this and discover what keeps me going.

Thinking about upgrading this year? Bench, think twice! :P

What always comes out first? My mobile phone. That should come as no surprise. It now serves as my brain's external hard drive and isn't simply for calls or texts. My Spotify DJ, my alarm clock, which I snooze three times before actually waking up, my calendar, my grocery list, my emergency flashlight when I drop stuff under the bed, and weird messages in my Notes like "buy eggs for post-workout meal", "Call Mama and ask her how to properly iron my pants" -- are all examples of mine.

I wouldn't know what day it is or where I'm meant to be without it. I would go back to my apartment and start over if I left without my phone, either inside my bag or inside my pocket.

My 6-year-old Hickok Billfold Leather Wallet

Then I have my wallet. IDs, ATM cards, a bit of cash that vanish more quickly than I'd like (because let’s be real, everything’s digital now, but jeepneys and karinderias don’t take digital payments all the time), and some old receipts that I keep forgetting to discard—nothing special, just the standard suspects.

I carry this adulting emblem with me, and I'm reminded every time I open it, "Hey, Bench, you still have so many bills to pay."

Keys featuring #DBStheBest

My apartment keys are in one of the smaller pockets. These tiny metal parts may not seem like much, yet they determine whether I may sleep in some random hallway in BGC or on my bed. I can't risk losing them, so I constantly check for them by patting my bag, my pocket, and then my bag again.

Plus, it would be a nightmare — mostly because I’d have to bug my sleeping Tita once I am outside the gate.

Noah by Sunnies Studios

20-20 vision no more. I now use eyeglasses since I can't see beyond ten feet without them. Sometimes it's eyeglasses, sometimes sunglasses. Depends on the day. I wear eyeglasses to avoid mistaking a stranger for a friend, and sunglasses because the world is blinding me to the core. Plus, they serve as a shield when I don't want people to know I'm quietly people-watching.

Laguna X Triton by Sunnies Studios with personalized pouches

These are not just my accessories; they’re my survival gear.

ROHTO Cool 40α Eye Drops | Pasalubong from Kate!

Then there's my secret weapon: eyedrops. Hours spent looking at screens (mobile phone, laptop, PC) can make me look as if I haven't slept in weeks. After a few drops, I look less like a zombie and more like a man in control of his life.

Eye drops are my little bottle of salvation, to be honest.

My almost 4-year-old AirPods

My AirPods? My life. When I go to the gym or commute, these small things help me stay sane. While silence is wonderful, there are moments when I need to block out the world with music, podcasts (I highly recommend Stephanie Soo's Spotify podcast channel | Rotten Mango), or simply white noise or my current favorite Sleep Spotify playlist: Rain Sounds. Thank me later.

My daily escape route is my AirPods. Why? because they also spare me from having to engage in awkward small talk with strangers when I'm clearly not feeling it.

Hope to do a fist-bump with you at AF!

Speaking of the gym, I also keep my gym key fob inside. It's little, yet powerful. To be honest, carrying it can seem like an accomplishment—even if I don't go to the gym that day. It's a daily reminder that I'm at least thinking about my health. That counts for something, right?

This little piece of plastic is my ticket to staying (somewhat) fit. Carrying it reminds me I should go to the gym even when my brain says, “Bro, Netflix instead?”

Glow Authority Ultra Brightening Melt-in Sunscreen

In my 30s, I've come to realize that skincare is a form of self-care. Sunscreen comes next. I had assumed that this was only for the beach, but I've learned better. Sunscreen is a must if I don't want to look like a dried mango when I'm 40 years old.

Each time I put it on, the future me gives the current me a silent high five.

Personalized Sunnies Flask

My reliable water tumbler is tucked away in the side pocket. Even though I occasionally forget to drink from it, I still like knowing it’s there, silently judging me. Though it gives me a sense of health, and I feel proud to be a member of that "Hydrated and Thriving" club, because I carry it.

Hydration is key, they say. And I try to believe it.

Know the leather LTH/03 by Zara | A birthday gift from Jai!

The fact is that half the fight is won when you smell good.  Last but not least is my perfume. I'm ready to take on the world after just one fast spritz. Smelling good doesn’t just make you more approachable, but it also boosts your self-esteem. Even if you don't have your life together, why not give off the impression that you do? You never know who you could run into, and hey, first impressions matter.

Perfume is my go-to accessory whether I'm running errands, meeting friends, hitting the gym, or going to work.

So yeah, that's my bag, then. Not really glitzy, yet everything within contributes to my daily existence. The tools that keep me moving, appear reasonably put together, and smell respectable enough for society are all part of my little survival kit.

Work x Gym bag | Adidas 4ATHLTS Small Duffle Bag

I don't require much at this age. I just carry a bag that helps me function as a man in my 30s who tries to have fun and live a responsible life. Thus, if you ever see me clutching my bag as if it held the secret to my life, it probably does.

Thanks for reading, and see you in the next one!

August 22, 2025—Davao City, Philippines—Every August, the streets of Davao come alive with music, colors, and festive spirit for the Kadayawan. This year, many Davaoeños found a different way to celebrate—by enjoying the city’s best local flavors delivered straight to their doorsteps, made possible by foodpanda.

Kadayawan, the city's biggest harvest festival, is a time to celebrate rich culture, abundance, and, of course, food. Local cuisines reflect tradition and heritage, making them an essential part of the festivities. For some, the celebration means going out to watch tribal sports, street dances, and celebrity-studded floats; for others, it’s about slowing down and savoring the long weekend with family, friends, and homegrown dishes.

With a wide variety of local food establishments available on the app, Davaoeños truly got the best of both worlds. They were able to celebrate in comfort while still indulging in authentic flavors from local favorites. Here are just some of the Kadayawan must-haves that reached homes this season through foodpanda:

  • Olivia Limos enjoyed the festivities with a sweet delivery from Bistro Rosario, featuring their iconic Mango Charlotte and Butter Roll.

  • Goin Pineda found comfort in a box of chicken wings from SouthWing, proving that festival traffic is no match for the ease of foodpanda’s service.

  • NeP-C Ledesma and her family celebrated Davao’s farm-to-table abundance with a healthy spread from The Green Bounty Kitchen.

  • Michael Kael reminded his followers that a true Dabawenyo feast—like Beef Hinalang and Sinuglaw from Paz Eatery—is now just a few clicks away.

  • Kirby Gaitano opted for a flavorful celebration at home with a haul of tacos and burgers from Dirty Sanchez, showing that foodpanda truly brings festival flavors closer to every household.

For many Davaoeños, celebrating from home didn’t mean missing out on tradition. Community leaders such as Gem Tadefa, President of the Davao Bloggers Society, echoed how this experience showed the convenience and accessibility of festival favorites.

We love how foodpanda is empowering our community to celebrate Kadayawan their way—supporting local restaurants and enjoying our city’s rich culinary scene—all with a simple and convenient delivery,” he shared.

And because the celebration doesn’t have to end with the festival weekend, foodpanda is extending the spirit of Kadayawan all month long with a special promo. Until August 31, 2025, customers can enjoy ₱100 off a minimum order of ₱199 from selected restaurants using the code PANDA100.

With every order, Davaoeños continue to enjoy convenience while supporting homegrown favorites, proving that Kadayawan flavors are worth celebrating all month long.

BLACKPINK, photo courtesy of YG Entertainment

Hey, this one's for you, Blink family. Even though I've been following BLACKPINK since their debut—can you believe that's been over ten years?—I still feel a rush whenever they release a new song. I was thus prepared—and thrilled, perhaps a little nostalgic as well—when I heard "𝕵𝖚𝖒𝖕," the first time it was released following a protracted three-year GG hiatus.

The Premiere Moment

They sang it live at the Deadline World Tour launch in Goyang, South Korea, on July 5. Imagine stadium lights, spectators screaming, and suddenly the beat hits. I had goosebumps as if we were all newborn Blinks again.

This Sound Has a Unique Hit

I hit play when the complete single came out on July 11. And those hard-style dance-pop beats, amazing. Instant adrenaline. Sharp and powerful, the chorus is designed to evoke a club or performance atmosphere. It's not subtle or gentle, and that's precisely why I found it so BLACKPINK.

It's Not Just About Energy

"𝕵𝖚𝖒𝖕" signifies a genuine reconnection. Every member—Jisoo, Lisa, Jennie, and Rose—had been traveling alone, pursuing acting, music, and other endeavors. However, even after some time away, this song reinforces their strength as a group and their harmony. Plus, it’s a monster on the charts. Topped the Billboard Global 200 and reigns across Southeast Asia and more. In South Korea, it grabbed eight music show wins. That’s domination. | -Wikipedia

Not everyone is crushing it, though

Not all fans are head-over-heels. Some think it ends too abruptly or lacks depth in the chorus, missing a memorable bridge. Still, others are all in—calling it a banger and praising its fresh energy. A few say it’s more like a fun club track than a full comeback sound, but hey—that’s exactly why it stands out. | From a random Reddit post

Final Thoughts

As a Blink in his 30s who has been stanning with the GG since "Boombayah" and "Whistle," "𝕵𝖚𝖒𝖕" was like reliving the electric energy of an old buddy. Although it's not flawless as others might say, for me it's unapologetically them, loud, and audacious. And that's more than sufficient for fans like myself.

So let's celebrate "𝕵𝖚𝖒𝖕" and hope it keeps us moving, remembering, and celebrating more than before. Praying and hoping to see them in the flesh this November in the Philippine Arena. Fingers-crossed!

Thanks for reading, and see you in the next one!

FULL LYRICS HERE from Genius Lyrics

BLACKPINK - 뛰어 (𝕵𝖚𝖒𝖕) (Romanized)

[Verse 1: Rosé, Jisoo]
I'm not that easy to tame
You should see me under these lights, all my tears turn to ice
That's the sweetest escape
Every time the feeling kicks in, I might stay through the night

[Pre-Chorus: Jennie, Lisa]

Rocked that, didn't I?
Chakgak haji ma, nuga nugunji, woah-oh-oh

You know I walk it, yeah, I talk it

Nun gamgo, hana, dul, set (ttwieo)

[Chorus: Jennie, Rosé]
